ABA Sprout was founded because we believe every behavior analyst — whether just starting out as an RBT or advancing toward BCBA certification — deserves access to high-quality, affordable study tools without spending hundreds of dollars on prep courses.
Our Story
ABA Sprout was created by Mike Hernandez, a certified Registered Behavior Technician (RBT®) who experienced firsthand the challenges of preparing for the RBT certification exam.
When Mike was studying for his own RBT exam, he found that most preparation resources were either prohibitively expensive — with some programs charging $100 to $200 or more — or they were outdated, using question banks that hadn't been updated to reflect the latest BACB® task list. Free alternatives like Quizlet relied on user-generated content with questionable accuracy and no quality control.
After passing the exam, Mike set out to build the study platform he wished had existed: a comprehensive, free tool with professionally written practice questions aligned to the current task list, detailed explanations for every answer, and a modern user experience that works seamlessly on both desktop and mobile devices.
What started as a simple set of practice questions has grown into a full study platform used by thousands of aspiring RBTs and BCBAs across the United States. Aligned to the 2026 3rd Edition Task List
All exam content is meticulously mapped to the current BACB® RBT Task List (3rd Edition), effective January 2026. We update our materials whenever the BACB releases task list changes to ensure accuracy and relevance.
